About Me

"There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future, or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain." -Babylon 5

God

So you tell me that you don’t
Believe
You can’t
Accept

He seems to you a distant
Fable
Somebody far away
Somebody who doesn’t care
If he even exists

You try to tell me
You try to tell yourself
That the world is too
Chaotic
Atomic

Plutonic

For a God I
Believe in

Well, I can’t tell you
What to think
But I can
Show you why
I believe

God is the breeze at our back
The rustle of the leaves
The world spinning
Turning
Changing
He is the breath of fresh air
The reason why men wave flags
Why they tear them down

God is in the pen
The leader signs with
Even if he is wrong

He is the intersection
When we have to choose a path
He is the feeling we get when we eat
Mint choc chip ice cream
Yea, even the brain freeze of ecstasy

He is with us in the company of good friends
And mortal enemies
Especially when we are facing
Demons

God is in the eye of the man who has lost
Everything
And who still goes on

He is the muse
Which comes to poets
As they dream

He is the God who sent winds
Into a young man’s cave
Which stopped his world
Spinning
And set his feet upon
The rock

God is the smell of
Toast rising up the stairs
Sweet lavenders
Hugs and kisses
A sea out the window
Children scampering

Wild
Glee
Free

He is in the musician as he plays his
Heart out
On stage

God is with the audience
As they are inspired
By the bardic crier

God is in the writer’s book
His thick ink and weaving scripts
In his characters
In his dreams as he sleeps

God is in the reader
Nudging them to move
To grow
To conquer their menacing foe

God was with the mother
Who prayed for her son
Wondering why
Sometimes it made her cry

God was with the boy
Who prayed for his sick brother
And was still with him
When the little one wasn’t healed

And whose still with him
Far away from home
Yet still with the same
Sweet spirit

God is with all those
Who pray for the sick
Even if they aren’t
Healed

God is with the teenager
Even if he’s mad with the way he is
Why he’s different
Why some won’t accept him
None understand him
And some fear him

God was with him again
As he revealed himself
Like a train
Slamming on all four sides

God is with the man
Who can’t walk
Yet announces
I am
Healed!

God is in the manic laugh
Of the one who realizes
He’s been wrong all these years
And it really was that simple
Changing his ways
Forever after

God is with the girl sitting by the window
With those who sob because of the confusion
Because of their delusion
Their illusion

God is with the woman
Who runs like the wind
Because her friend can’t

God is change

A man screams:
“Where have my brothers?”
God is in the embrace, which tells him
“Here are your brothers.”

God is realizing you were wrong
Knowing that you judged someone
He is there when that someone
Appears
At the times when they are needed most

God is the hand
Which slaps your face
Playfully
You see, God has a sense of humor

Showing us the true
Nature
Of
Love

“God is dead” – Nietzsche
Is written on the chalkboard
“Nietzsche is dead” – God
Written below

A faint undercurrent
Of resistance
Persistence
Insistence

He is
Resolute
In Entropy

Because there is really no
Entropy
Just
Faith
Lost and found

So you can tell me
There is no God
That even if he did exist
He is a sadist

Yet I know the truth
My God is everywhere
And you can’t say
Otherwise

And if you try to

I’ll still love you

That is God.
